best bay decoration ideas for independence day
hi guys, welcome to steve's kitchen. thefourth of july is upon us again and at steve's kitchen i'm going to be showing you all sorts of wonderful treats you can make to celebrate fourth of july. today we'regoing to be making those jello shots that every one loves but we're going to making them with a 4thjuly twist on them they taste wonderful, they look fantastic. you can make them with or without alcohol guys. this isgreat for any sort of party let me show you how now we're starting with a 3 ounce pack that's about 85 grams
of this jelly mix,the jello premix that you can buy that's already flovoured we're not going to follow the instructionson the packet i want a slightly thicker jelly than what they recommend empty the pack into a bowl and then we're going to add 1 cup of boiling water, straight from the kettle just mix that through we want to dissolve that jelly inthere and when you're comfortable that the geletine is completely dissolved here's where you decide if you want an alcohol based shot or not
we're going to take 1/2 a cup of either vodka or just plain water plain water and pour that in to cool that down a little bitand give it a mix through so at this point got guys i'm going to want to put a third of this into a shot glass now if you use the previously filled shot glass you can use that as a sort of measure to makesure you've got similar or very close to the same amount in each glass so there i've got six little shot glasses with my blue
jello in there alcohol or alcohol free your choice and i'm going to leave those on atray in the fridge just to let them set completely now when you're comfortable your blue jelly is set and i'll take least maybe three hours we going to take one cup of cream into asaucepan and 25 grams of superfine sugar that'scaster sugar that's about 1 ounce. just start to mix that through over a heat and i'm just going to add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract in there as well for a little flavor
so this is very similar to the way youmake a panna cotta it's not really a panna cotta because i'mgoing to set it a little bit firmer with extra gelatine but very similar and the principles are thesame. now as this creamy sugary milk comes up to a boil when it's near a simmeri'm taking two teaspoons of unflavored gelatin and youcould use 2 of the gelatine leaves and i'm just going to sprinkle that over the top of the cream and then let it mix in and you want this gelatine tocompletely dissolve in the cream
actually you can turn the heat off now this is quite hot enough and when you're happy the gelatine iscomplete dissolved into cream i want to set this aside in a cool areafor about 15-20 minutes just to let it cool down before i it poured on top of our blue jelly. now i've allowed my cream to cool down but it's still runny and i'vepoured it into a little pouring glass and we've just got to verycarefully now pour it in on top of the blue and again we'relooking for about a third of the way up another third and now they'reready to go back in the fridge for another two
to three hours until that's set firm. okay once your white jelly has setthat takes two or three hours we're going to now take a strawberry jelly a red jelly again that's a 3 oz packet that's about 85 grams and into that i'm going to add 1 cup of boiling hot water and once your much certain that the gelatine is completely dissolved we're going to take half a cup ofwater or vodka depending on whether you use the alcoholic version of the shots
just add that into there and stir it around so we're going to set this jelly aside nowand let it completely cool down we want it to be quite cool to the touchnot set but when we pour it on top these of jelliesif its warm is going to destroy the actual white jellyso we've got to be careful okay this is completely optional but iwant to decorate my shots with a little cherry now i want the cherries on the stalk like this and i've got one of these cherry pitters i don't know if you've got one andas i say this is optional
but i pop the cherry inside sideways into the pitter and just push the pip out now you didn't see that there as it flew over theother site but what's happened is that taking the pip out of the center of the cherry and theni'm just going to take the cherry itself and i'm going to slice alittle tiny bit off the bottom so the cherry stands like that ok and i'm going to use that inside myjelly as a little decoration right now i'm just going to finallyassemble this i've got my
little cherry and just stand it in the middle there and i've allowed my red strawberry jelly to cool a little bit now i'm just going to pour it over the top of thecherry let it sit there on top of the white there you have it guy's i'm going to set these aside for a goodcouple of hours to let them set and there are my 4th july jelly shotswhether you have them with alcohol or you have them without they look fantastic and they going to taste absolutelywonderful, i'll give one of these a try now
they've completely set they won't come outand if i pop my cherry pull the stalk off like that you've got a completely ediblefourth of july celebration and they do look a ittle bit like the french flag as well so viva la france my french friends let'sgive this a try ok i'm going to take the cherry a little bit of the cream as well all in one shot and it's delicious because i took the pip out of there you can eat the whole thing tastes wonderful
guys let these come back up to roomtemperature serve them on 4th of july keep a watch out i've got a lot of other 4th of july recipes this week be good ohthat cream delicious. thanks for watching again guys be good, see you in the next video thanks for watching guys my subscription button is above as always and a couple of links to some videos. it's a lot of fun making these recipes, i hope you're enjoying them, commentsdown below if you made something similar in the past, comments down below anyway. be good
