shortage of favorites at the great jack-o'-lantern blaze now in its 12th year in westchester county. every year something new is added to the favorite fall event. this year it's the pumpkin bridge.
which is a replica of the tappan zee bridge. it's all made out of jack-o'- lanterns and it's a pretty cool thing. reporter: old favorite improved upon from last year, the pumpkin planetarium, twinkling pumpkins up above and
all around you. another crowdpleaser, headless horseman whose pumpkin head seems to fly away. the jack-in-the-box is the winner for the 9-year-old ashley. why do you like that? their faces are really
pretty and cool. it's a fun thing to do for the kids. it's a labor of love for all the volunteers. reporter: it begins back in june when volunteers begin to carve the first pumpkins. amy cutler is one of those
people who says her call to become a carver came four years ago. there was an ad in the newspaper saying pumpkin carver is needed. so i saw that and said that's what i want to be when i grow up.
the hours of carving and lighting 7000 pumpkins creates the wonderland fit for all ages. this event lasts through the whole month of october and all the way to thanksgiving. so how did the pumpkins last so long?
