buddhist art home decor
hi, i'm kelli ronci for pottery barn kids. for an around the clock themed baby shower, transform recycled bottles by wrapping them with twine to create vessels for a unique centerpiece. gather some empty bottles in various shapes and sizes, and a few different shades and textures of twine. a little hot glue is all you need to secure the twine to the bottles. to begin, lay the bottle down on its side. slowly apply a thin layer of glue in small increments to the bottom edge of the bottle, pressing the twine down on the glue. do this to the entire bottom edge. now roll the bottle, keeping it on its side, allowing the twine to wrap around.
about every four or five rows, apply about an inch of a thin layer of glue, and continue rolling the bottle and wrapping the twine, pushing down on the twine to keep it from spreading out and creating gaps. try to avoid applying too much glue, in order to allow for the twine to lay flat. once you reach the top of the bottle, continue wrapping the twine, building up the top edge of the bottle, applying glue on each row. do this for about four to five rows and then cut. and now your bottle is transformed and ready to be filled with anything from fresh flowers to whimsical decorations,
such as these playful numbers on springs. the possibilities are endless. enjoy!
