cheap decorating ideas party
my kids’ want birthday parties at placesthat cost $200 to $300 per party. what are some cheap ways to have a birthday party? get a really big cake. invite two dozen kids. you make it so simple. how do i keep the kidsbusy? let them run around the yard for half an hourwith silly string or water balloons. it is even easier if you have a pool, though thenumber of kids should be reduced. what’s another option? i don’t like cleaningup silly string. plan party games from the 1950s like pin thetail on the donkey or a piã±ata. for today’s kids, that will be a kicker just because ofthe novelty.
i don’t want to have flash backs to my own, boring parties. let your daughter have a sleep over with halfa dozen friends. have them come over in the evening, enjoy cake and presents, show videosuntil midnight and then crash. do i have to pay for pizza for half a dozengirls? that’s why i said after dinner, have cake. what about a day time party? rent a pavilion at the park for two hours.have hot dogs, cake and lots of running around on the playground equipment. the last thing my birthday kid needs is abroken arm falling off the jungle gym.
how many people jokingly say break a leg forgood luck? well, you could set up an ice cream sundae bar at your house for the party. i’d rather have a costume party, but thoseare costly. not if you tell kids they can wear their halloweencostumes. or make it book character day, and they have to bring the book with the characteron it. what do we do with the books? for younger kids, reading their friends’books would be a thrill. i’m glad to know that as expensive as itis to raise kids, the cost of marking the change doesn’t have to be one of them.
