home decorating ideas color schemes

hi, i'm ann myrick, and today i'm going toshow you how to create a monochromatic color scheme. monochromatic would mean only usingone or two colors. a lot of times, you can use whites, but you can use many, many versionsof whites. or neutrals, many, many versions of neutrals. this room, in some ways, youwould also call monochromatic, because i don't have a lot of color in this room. i have alot of wood tones. i have a lot of dark tones. i have a lot of natural tones, but i don'thave a lot of real vibrant color. the only thing that gives you any punch of color isin the pillows. so, this would be monochromatic in that everything is in the same family.a monochromatic room is a very calm room. some people don't like the monochromatic, because color really speaks to them, but ways

you would make a monochromatic is, just bringingin...you can, if you have existing furniture that has bright colors, you can have coverletsmade out of a neutral color or whatever the color is you want to use. and then you wouldjust pull out colors, except for those colors you want to use, whether it's all whites, whether it's all tans and browns. but you just pull out most of the color, and use thatfamily of color, and then that creates a very monochromatic feel. this is ann myrick, andthat is how to create a monochromatic color scheme in a room.
