♪ i'm lori and i'm a pier 1 imports store manager. as a store manager at pier 1 imports every day is different. we are a hundred percent responsible for the customer experience in the store and welcoming people into our stores is like welcoming people into our homes for a party. we're fun, we have fun with our customers, we have fun merchandise. our number one goal at pier 1 imports is to be the favorite home furnishings and gift store for our customers.
there are operational things that we have to do every day. paper work, ringing up the register, bank deposits and we also have to make sure that we are giving our associates the information that they need. we have to make sure that they understand throughout the day, whether they're succeeding in what we have asked them to do or maybe need a little bit more help. hiring at pier 1 imports is very important. we need to have the people that exhibit our visions and values.
at pier 1 imports, we're committed to developing our associates, we can take them from being a sales associate to maybe a sales leader. from sales leader to an assistant manager. from assistant manager to a store manager and even above. once you get your team together and everything is clicking and moving along and customers are happy and associates are happy. once you can get that buzz in the store, that is so rewarding, so exciting, that is when you get the sales, that's when you are getting your results that you're looking for and having that fun with our merchandise
with the customers is what makes it exciting.
